What is List Assist?
List Assist is a Olo Host App feature — a virtual helping hand for managers and hosts.
- List Assist triggers a sequence of automated reminder texts to your guests
- The goal of the texts is to encourage guests to return and claim their table quickly
- If the guest doesn’t reply or show up to be seated, Olo will automatically mark the party as a “No Show”
- This behind-the-scenes support is like an extra virtual host helping you keep your waitlist clean
- Note: List Assist utilizes your existing “Notify Party” text messages which are sent to guests who have checked in — and introduces new automated messaging for any fashionably late, remote guests
What are the default settings?
List Assist for Arrived & Checked-In Guests:
- Hosts will tap “Notify” when a guest’s table is ready, just as they do today
- Then, your three “table ready” text messages will automatically be sent to guests on a set delay between texts
- The default delay settings are as follows:
- 2nd text: 5 minutes after 1st text
- 3rd text: 5 minutes after 2nd text
- Guest marked as No Show: 2 minutes after 3rd text
- Please contact Olo Support before September 3rd if you’d like to adjust the default settings
List Assist for Remote Parties (guests who have not yet arrived and are late):
- List Assist for remote parties only applies if you take advanced reservations or allow guests to join the waitlist remotely (online, via Google, your app, etc.)
- Olo will automatically notify the guest when they are past their ETA
-
The default delay settings are as follows:
- 1st text: 15 minutes after ETA
- 2nd text: 10 minutes after 1st text
- Guest marked as No Show: 2 minutes after 2nd text
-
The default text copy is as follows:
- This removes the guest from the automated flow and marks them as “On The Way”
- This removes the guest from both the automated flow and the waitlist and marks the guest as canceled
- 1st Text: “Hey there. Just checking in to make sure you are still joining us. Reply 1 if you are on your way, or 3 if you need to cancel.”
- 2nd Text: “We haven’t heard from you, so for now, we’ll be moving on to the next party. Please reply 1 if you are on your way.”
- Reply message to guests on their way: “Great. See you soon.”
- Reply message to guests who cancel: “Thank you for letting us know. See you next time.”
