What calculation/computation types are supported?
Count | The number of events that match a specified interaction (e.g. Count of Orders Completed). |
Sum | The results of a specified property added together, which must be a number (e.g. Sum of “Total” spent on Order Completed events). |
Min | The lowest value for a specified property, which must be a number or timestamp. |
Max | The highest value for a specified property, which must be a number or timestamp. |
First Value | The oldest value for a specified property. |
Last Value | The most recent for a specified property. |
First Timestamp | The oldest occurrence for a specified property. |
Last Timestamp | The most recent occurrence for a specified property. |
Average | The average value of a property, which must be a number. Processing time may be longer for this computation type. |
Are computations instantaneous?
No, computations are not instantaneous. The computation time will vary based on the computation type and complexity of the computation built.
Can multiple Track Events be combined for a computation?
No, multiple track events cannot be combined for a computation.
Do I need to know what a 'Merchant id' is or can I just select the location(s) I want to focus on?
You don't need to worry about 'Merchant IDs'. The product UI provides a Location dropdown list when adding 'Location' as a condition on a track event as you're building your Computed Property.
The Merchant ID is a unique identifier for a location that travels with a Track Event and can be viewed when you click 'View Properties' on a Track Event from a Guest Timeline. So, if you wanted to analyze the details of the 'View Properties' as part of the preparation step, you can request the list of your Merchant IDs from their CSM.

What needs to happen for a Computed Property to show up in the Segments dropdown?
- Computed Property created in the builder
- Applicable Track Events must exist
- Applicable Users must exist
- If there’s no data (meaning, no events/users that meet the computation criteria) - then the Identify Event won't fire yet and the Computed Property will not yet show up in Segments
Can Computed Properties be deleted?
Users cannot delete Computed Properties within the Engage Dashboard, so we recommend exercising caution when building them out. If you'd like to delete an existing Computed Property, please submit a ticket to Engage Support and include the Computed Property name.
Users will see a list of all disabled Computed Properties by navigating to Guest Data > Computed Properties > Disabled in the Engage Dashboard.
